FirstCare wins GOLD for Most Effective Application of Technology

MARCOL’s pioneering workforce health management specialist FirstCare (now GoodShape), scooped GOLD at the ECCCSA Awards 2020 in the prestigious category of Most Effective Application of Technology, beating tough competition from Microsoft who were awarded Silver and The Very Group who were awarded Bronze.

This accolade recognised the business’ significant investment in its proprietary technology and digital tools, enabling the smooth running of a 24/7 service that provides real-time insight into the issues affecting staff; supporting wellbeing and boosting productivity for some of the UK’s largest employers.

It is a great achievement for the Service Centre, IT and Product Teams who partnered with Genesys, Foehn and MARCOL’s technology business Alltime Technologies, to deliver digital upgrades that meant, when demand during the pandemic peaked at over 800% of normal volumes, service remained stable, even exceeding 90% in customer satisfaction levels.

The award though, is testimony to the extraordinary work of FirstCare’s whole team, as CEO Ian Caminsky explains:

“I’m thrilled that the ECCCSA has recognised FirstCare’s use of technology to enhance our service for clients and their employees. So far during the pandemic, we’ve supported more than 80,000 members who have been affected by issues around Covid-19 – and tech has played a huge role in delivering stability and a quality user experience through the biggest peaks in demand we’ve seen. That’s crucial when you’re providing 24/7 support to the key workers and organisations that have kept the country moving. But tech is only half the story. People are at the heart of what we do; nurses, advisors, account managers, and data scientists, all combine to ensure the wellbeing of our members and accuracy of insight that has kept businesses productive. I couldn’t be prouder of their efforts, and those of our partner organisations, in this important work.”

Every day, the business, now called GoodShape, provides frontline advice and support to help reduce the enormous personal and financial impact of injury and illness in the workplace, through its unique hybrid of clinical expertise and advanced digital services.
