‘Topping-out’ ceremony held at Guildford development

A ‘topping out’ ceremony on 24 February marked the highest point of the structure being put in place at the £60m hotel and residential RMH Group project in Guildford, Surrey.

Located on Guildford’s High Street, the development forms part of a major regeneration of the city centre. It includes a 183-bedroom deluxe 4-star hotel, to be operated by Radisson Edwardian Hotels, 38 high-specification apartments and a three storey underground car park.

The hotel will be the only one of its standard in Guildford and will include two restaurants, two bars, state-of-the-art conferencing and banqueting facilities, a gymnasium and spa.

Adjacent to the hotel Guildford City Council are developing the Civic Centre, a £26m events and arts complex, and there are plans for several other new restaurants and bars to open in the same quarter, creating a new entertainment zone in the city centre.

RMH Group is a joint venture between MARCOL and Nicolas Roach.
