£60million development begins in Guildford

A sod cutting ceremony on 27 January marked the beginning of construction works at the £60m hotel and residential RMH Group project in Guildford.

Located on Guildford’s High Street, the development forms part of a major regeneration of the city centre. It includes a 185 room deluxe 4-star hotel, to be operated by Radisson Edwardian Hotels, and 38 high-specification apartments.

The hotel will feature a fine dining restaurant, stylish bistro, two bars, state of the art conferencing and banqueting facilities, gymnasium and luxury health spa.

The site was previously the Guildford Hotel, Alexandra House office building and public car park. It is adjacent to the Guildford City Council development of the Civic Centre, a new £26m events and arts complex. Both are due to complete towards the end of 2011.

RMH Group is a joint venture between MARCOL and Nicolas Roach.
